Straddle From Anywhere & No Look All-In: A New Level of Preflop Action

The classic straddle is a simple way to add more action before the cards are even dealt. But traditionally, there is one limitation: only the player in the UTG position can straddle. 

The new Straddle From Anywhere by EvenBet Gaming changes that. Now, any player at the table can signal that they are ready to straddle, turning the preflop into an interactive phase where multiple players can increase the stakes or even go all-in without looking at their cards. 

Together with No Look All-In, the new functionality makes the start of every hand faster, more dynamic and much less predictable. 

What is Straddle From Anywhere?

A straddle is an optional blind bet made before the cards are dealt, in addition to the mandatory blinds. In traditional poker, the straddle is usually placed by the UTG player — the player immediately to the left of the big blind. 

With our new Straddle From Anywhere, this restriction is removed. 

The operator can enable the feature in the back-office, and players can then activate a Straddle checkbox at the table. The checkbox is essentially a signal: “I’m ready to straddle in the next hand.” 

If at least one player has Straddle enabled when the next hand is about to start, the dedicated straddle phase begins. The system checks the seats clockwise, starting from UTG, and finds the first player who has activated Straddle. That player places the initial straddle — even if they are not in the UTG position. 

And this is where the action really starts. 

How Does It Work? 

From the Operator’s Side 

The new functionality is flexible and fully controlled from the back-office. Operators can choose between the classic straddle logic and the new Straddle From Anywhere mode. 

The available options are: 

• Straddle Allowed — enables straddling at the table. 
• Straddle From Anywhere — allows any player to participate in the straddle phase, rather than limiting the first straddle to UTG. 
• No Look All-In — allows players to go all-in before seeing their cards. 

The options are linked to keep the configuration logical. Straddle From Anywhere can only be enabled when Straddle is allowed, while No Look All-In becomes available only when Straddle From Anywhere is active. This means operators can decide exactly how much preflop action they want to introduce to a particular table or game type. 

From the Player’s Side 

Players simply activate the Straddle checkbox if they want to participate. If at least one player has Straddle enabled, the straddle phase starts before the hole cards are dealt. A new player indicator makes this status visible at the table, so players can see who has chosen to participate. 

The system then moves clockwise from UTG and finds the first player with Straddle enabled. That player places the initial straddle.  After that, all players get the opportunity to react. 

A shared timer appears, and players can choose between three actions: 

• Straddle once again— double the current straddle.
• No Look All-In — go all-in without looking at the cards. 
• Decline — skip the action and stay out of the straddle phase. 

If someone makes a bet, the shared timer resets and the action becomes available to everyone again. 

Importantly, there is no limit to how many times the same player can increase the straddle. For example, a player can place the initial straddle and then continue straddling as long as they have enough chips. The hand begins when the timer expires or when all players decline. 

What Is No Look All-In?

No Look All-In takes the idea of blind action one step further. With this option enabled, a player can go all-in before looking at their hole cards. 

It is available during the straddle phase alongside the regular straddle action. This creates an especially high-risk, high-reward moment: players can commit their entire stack without knowing what cards they hold. 

Why Does It Matter for Operators?

Straddle From Anywhere turns what was previously a single-player option into a table-wide source of action.
