Wagering Requirements

Wagering Requirements refer to the conditions that are used by casinos to stipulate the relative bonus amounts a player must wager before they can cash out any winning amounts. Bonuses and promotions are standard offerings.

Calculations:

  • A player, who is awarded with a $100 bonus with a 20x wagering requirement, must place $2,000 worth of wagers before withdrawing the bonus or its winnings.

Components:

  • Bonus Amount: It is a certain amount that netted customers get as a part of promotional offers.
  • Wagering Multiple: Refers to the number of times a player has to place a stake that is equal to the given bonus.
  • Game Contribution: Not all games contribute equally to each of the wagering requirements. Amounts, which the player is required to risk, such as some slots, which may contribute 100%, including table games like Blackjack or Roulette, may contribute only 10% or 20%.

Importance:

  • Wagering requirements prevent operators from exploiting bonuses, while encouraging the target audience to use them.

Transparency:

  • To protect players from situations, where they do not know the original terms, operators must provide the wager amounts.
  • Wagering requirements in casinos, particularly for bonuses and promotions, typically range from 20x to 50x the bonus amount.
    • Low Wagering Requirements:
      • 20x to 25x:  Adopted by casinos that care about their playes
    • Average Wagering Requirements:
      • 30x to 40x: Most common range for deposit bonuses and regular promotions.
    • High Wagering Requirements:
      • 50x or more: Some casinos may have higher requirements, particularly for large bonuses or certain promotions.
