All-in

When a player is betting all of their chips on a single hand.

How to Go All-In in Poker

To go All-in in poker, a player needs to push all of their remaining chips into the center of the table or verbally declare their intention to do so. Once a player is all in, they cannot place any additional bets for the remainder of that hand and can only compete for the part of the pot that corresponds to their original contribution before going all in.

Examples of Going All-In in Poker

It’s the final table of a poker tournament, and you are among the top three in chip counts. The player in first position goes all in before the flop, and you hold a strong hand with pocket Kings. You choose to go all in as well, which forces the third opponent to fold. Your hand holds up, giving you a substantial chip advantage as you enter the heads-up phase of the tournament.
